Santa Ana, Calif. (May 17, 2011) - BEHRCares, the
philanthropic arm of Behr Process Corporation, has announced that it
helped raise more than $67,585 for a variety of charities in 2010 and
expects to gain momentum in 2011.
"We are so grateful to the employees and their families and friends
who participated in the BEHR® fundraising efforts last year," said Jeff
Filley, president of BEHR. "We are all given a great opportunity to care
for and improve our communities. This will be another important year of
charitable giving and volunteering, and we're excited to continue the
legacy of caring."
The BEHRCares team had an inspired and successful 2010 full of
dedicated fundraising and volunteer work. Many BEHR employees helped by
donating blood to the American Red Cross, making payroll contributions
to The City of Hope and other charitable entities, and volunteering time
to charities in their communities. The program will continue to gain
momentum in 2011 as BEHR parent company Masco Corporation will match 100
percent of employee contributions at $50 or more, increasing the
BEHRCares impact.
Some charities the BEHRCares team supported in 2010 included:
- The American Heart Association
- Mothers Against Drunk Drivers
- The City of Hope and The Canadian Cancer Society
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
- The American Red Cross and UNICEF
- The Habitat for Humanity
- March of Dimes
BEHR also makes generous in-kind donations of paint products to many
worthy causes throughout North America. BEHRCares fundraising events and
Masco's matching program are continuing in 2011, with significant
efforts such as the Newport Beach, Calif., March of Dimes for Premature Babies on May 7 and the Revlon Run/Walk for Women's Cancers, also May 7.
